事務所兼自宅を建てる前、同じ賃貸にお住まいの方のことがずっと気になっていた。近くに加工場があり、お天気が悪いと、真剣な表情で歩いていらっしゃる。ある日その方の奥さんとばったりお会いしたので伺ったところ、落花生を栽培し、ピーナッツバターをつくられているとのことでした。
食べてみるととても美味しくて。以降、手土産を持っていくときは、杉山ナッツさんのピーナッツバターにしています。
土づくりから瓶につめて出荷するまですべての工程にこだわった真摯な姿勢は、こちらも頑張ろう、という気持ちにもなります。
