カリモクリサーチセンターで開催中の 照明デザイナー アントニ・アローラ 「光との対話」展。とってもよかったです。
既存の建物全体という枠組みを効果的に使った展示は、地下1階から始まります。
最初はインスタレーション。といっても、真っ暗な室内に身を置き、目が慣れるにつれ「仕組み」が浮かび上がる。普段あたりまえのように存在するものも見る視点・切り取り方を操作することで、世界が大きく変わるよう。
1階は照明器具。
光や素材を前に、わくわくするような探求の先に発見があり、その積み重ねの結果として生み出されたような、ただただ美しく「在る」光。
2階は肉声とともに創作について伝える映像と、模型サイズの実験道具たち。
遊び心が仕事にそのままつながっている、そんな空気を感じる展示でした。

The exhibition “A Dialogue with Light” by lighting designer Antoni Allora, currently on display at the Karimoku Research Center. It was amazing.
The exhibition, which effectively utilizes the entire existing building, begins on the basement level.
First comes the installation. Though it starts in complete darkness, as my eyes adjust, the “mechanism” gradually emerges. Even things we take for granted can transform the world dramatically when viewed from a different perspective or through a different lens.
The first floor features lighting fixtures.
Facing light and materials, discoveries await at the end of an exciting exploration. The result is light that simply and beautifully “exists,” born from the accumulation of these discoveries.
The second floor presents videos conveying the creative process alongside the artist's own voice, along with model-sized experimental tools.
It was display to feel such an atmosphere that a sense of fun just led to work.
